AND EIC BG811 YAMBOL CELEBRATE WITH YAMBOL CITIZENS
THE ACCESSION OF BULGARIA TO THE EU.
 The
team of YCCI and EIC BG811 Yambol celebrated together
with Yambol citizens
2 January 2007 as Euro holiday. In the sunny winter
day in front of the office of YCCI and EIC Yambol to
the sounds of the European anthem - Ode to joy citizens
had the possibility to receive informational materials
about EU, to drink champagne in honour of the great
event, to have a bite of cheese pasty by old Bulgarian
custom and to look what are the fortune slips for them
during the first European year of Bulgaria. [more]
CHANGES
TO THE STRUCTURE OF THE PARLIAMENT AFTER THE ACCESSION
OF BULGARIA AND ROMANIA TO THE EU
With the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the
EU at the beginning of this year, the number of MEPs
increases from 732 to 785. Romania has 35 MEPs and Bulgaria
18. All of them now join existing or new political groups
in the Parliament, but their arrival has not substantially
changed the balance of the Chamber. A quick look at
the changes:
4 Bulgarian and 9 Romanian MEPs join the European People's
Party (EPP-ED) bringing the total to 277. [more]
